It had been a while since we last ate at Kahoo, but this last visit was really good. I thought the Miso Ramen and sides like Karaage were all solid. Nice flavors without being overly seasoned, properly cooked and most of all delicious.
Small place with limited seating and there can be a wait during peak hours. But a good option if in the area of Mitsuwa market. -

First off I think 3.5 stars is perfect for this review but we cannot report half stars I think they were leaning to 4 stars. Normally I would go to Santouka in the supermarket but my roommate was antsy and hangry so we decided to try Kahoo. The line was pretty long but some ppl decided to quit and it made it bearable. Honestly the interior size and decor reminded me of a couple of neighborhood ramen restaurants in Tokyo.
After about 20 minutes we were seated at the bar and we had time to check out the menu and were prepared to order immediately. Service was prompt without being too pushy. We both ordered the Kotteri Miso Ramen and shared a plate of gyoza. The food was served in about 5 minutes which was pretty fast but there were some minor issues. First the egg was cold and veggies were cold. I think it would be nice to warm them up before adding them to the bowl cuz the broth got cool real fast. The broth was a little salty but good and the noodles were almost perfect. The saving grace to the dish was the Char Siu pork. It was delicious and there was a generous helping of it. The gyoza appetizer was very good though individually they seemed pretty small. We wondered if they were made in-house or store bought. The gyoza weren't uniform so I guessed the former. Prices were decent and service was pretty good. There is a good chance I will make a return visit some time. -

Right when we walked in, there was a 15 minute wait on a Sunday. The plaza was also pretty crowded so we had to park on the street. First thing I noticed was the bad customer service. A couple of people would come in after us but they were never greeted or given the wait time.
Now, for the ramen. Horrible broth. I couldn't get past the first couple bites without feeling gross. Even my boyfriend didn't like it (and he eats everything). Just tasted straight up weird. The noodles were just okay.
We ran out of water pretty fast and never got our cup refilled. Actually we were never checked up on throughout our lunch. We tried the flag the waiter down multiple times, even tried to talk to him saying, "excuse me, excuse me!" But he just ignored us. We ended up finding a water pitcher a waiter had left by a table near the door and poured it ourselves.
None of us enjoyed our meal one bit. Definitely just go somewhere else. -

Ramen shop hidden behind the Mitsuwa grocery store. Koteri ramen is our favorite. When the bowl of ramen is served, close your eyes and enjoy the aromas, the broth, and the texture of the noodles like as if you were in Tokyo. They are authentic and we enjoy this place when we are in town. Have to try their chicken karage.

There's almost always a line out the door for this place, and I can see why! From the outside, it looks like just another ramen shop, but when you really look at the menu, you'll notice slight differences in ingredients that really sets this place apart!
We came on a Friday night around 5:30 p.m., and the restaurant was pretty full, but we were able to get two seats at the bar within a few minutes. For an appetizer, we got an order of Takoyaki, which had a nice crispy outside! It was piping hot with just the right amount of batter to squid ratio.
For the main dish, I had the Kotteri Miso Ramen, and my boyfriend had the Kokumaru Shoyu. Let me just say, both were really good! The Kotteri Miso Ramen was rich and garlicky with a little bit of sweetness. The broth was a little thicker than the shoyu ramen. The Kokumaru Shoyu Ramen had a nice sweetness to it that I haven't experienced in a ramen before. I really enjoyed the uniqueness of both! I'll definitely be back.
